Tourbit Aerospace Cocktail Mixer

Welcome to Tourbit Aerospace! This get together is held bi-monthly as our way of getting to know our future passengers and answer any questions you may have about commercial spaceflight. Get a chance to meet our pilots and crew, as well as company founder, Skyler Shane.

About Tourbit Aerospace

Tourbit Aerospace was founded in 1995 by space travel visionary Skyler R. Shane. His dream to bring space travel to the masses brought him immediately to the name of the company, a combination of the words “tour” and “orbit”.

This aerospace design and development company is headquartered in Southern California with facilities in Florida and Alabama . Tourbit Aerospace is currently building and planning to operate the Icarus 1023 spaceplane for spaceflight tourism. Initially, passengers will be able to purchase one ticket for a seat on a suborbital flight for the cost of about $200,000. However, Shane sees being able to eventually adjust the price per ticket to $20,000 per passenger by lowering projected costs over time.

The company is also working on other projects that they expect to be highly profitable, including a spaceport hotel and resort.

If somebody'd said before the flight, "Are you going to get carried away looking at the earth from the moon?" I would have said, "No, no way." But yet when I first looked back at the earth, standing on the moon, I cried.•
Alan Shepard, Commander Apollo 14, in an interview October 1988.

Until recently, the only individuals permitted the opportunity to experience this unbelievable view were astronauts, engineers and pilots who trained mentally and physically for years to achieve the absolute highest standards necessary for space travel.

Today, Tourbit Aerospace has achieved the technology to make it possible for not just astronauts, but anyone with the dream of space travel to experience their very own space flight.

Highlights

Weightlessness
We have spent our entire lives bound to the Earth's surface by the force of gravity.

Altitude Exposure
As we leave Earth's surface and the spacecraft gains altitude, so our circulatory and respiratory systems need to adjust.

High G Exposure
The flight into space is a fantastic but rapid journey through Earth's atmosphere.
